A Change in Direction for my Blog.

To cut a long story short, whilst working a full-time job, I completed an undergraduate degree in American studies and a Master’s degree in public history. After completing my MA, I felt that I had wasted my studies as I did not work in the fields of either of my degrees.

I already had a Tumblr blog that I posted on now and then, and I was into photography, so I decided that I would write a more in-depth blog relating to history, leading me to start my Word Press blog.

After recently completing my MA, I was completely fed up with academic reading and writing and I desperately needed a break. I felt like my blog posts were becoming academic papers with lots of narrative and the last thing that I wanted to do was more academic study (for now).

Whilst I started my blog to not waste what I had learnt at university. I had to remind myself that my blog was a hobby and that I had to enjoy what I was writing. With this in mind, I decided that I would do more of what I enjoy, which is photography. I have also been teaching myself video editing and graphic design and have been posting more on my YouTube channel.

In the future, I may decide to start posting narrative heavy content, and I do have a few posts that I have already written that are ready to publish, but, for now, my posts are going to be shorter and hopefully more fun to read.

Thanks for reading,

Liz.
